Raimel Antonio Tapia Linarez of the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder. Tapia debuted in the Major League Baseball in 2016 with the Colorado Rockies.

Tapia was signed as an international free agent by the Colorado Rockies in 2010.

He spent the 2013 season with the Rookie-level Pioneer League’s Grand Junction Rockies, where he was named the league’s Player of the Month for July.

Tapia was promoted to the major leagues by the Rockies on September 2, 2016.

Tapia hit a two-out, two-strike go-ahead pinch-hit grand slam against Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Archie Bradley in the top of the seventh inning on July 20, 2018, to give the Rockies an 11–8 lead.

Tapia’s grand slam was his first of his career, and it proved to be the game’s deciding factor, as the Rockies went on to win 11–10.

 

He batted .200/.259/.480 in 25 at-bats last year.

 

With a sprint speed of 28.6 feet per second, he was the fastest designated hitter in the major leagues.
