Amed Rosario is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop and outfielder for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the New York Mets in 2017.

Rosario was added to the 40-man roster of the New York Mets following the 2016 season. Class AAA Pacific Coast League’s Las Vegas 51s were Rosario’s first assignment in 2017. Keith Law proclaimed Rosario the best prospect in baseball in April of that year.

After being named to the All-Star Futures Game for 2017, Rosario was also named to the Triple-A all star team for 2017. Rosario received All-Star honors in the Pacific Coast League and was named the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2017.

At Coors Field, on August 1, 2017, Rosario made his Major League Baseball debut against the Colorado Rockies. Scott Oberg struck out Rosario for the first time in his career in that game.

When Héctor Neris struck out Rosario on August 11, 2017, he hit his first professional Major League home run. On May 20, 2018, he became the first player in his career to hit two home runs in a single game, against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
