During their undergraduate days, Bohm and outfielder Greyson Jenista were dubbed “The Bash Brothers” by their teammates, a tribute to their offensive prowess.

Bohm hit.303 as a rookie in 2016, with six home runs and 30 RBIs, earning him a spot on Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s first-team Freshman All-American squad.

The Philadelphia Phillies selected Bohm in the first round, third overall, of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. They had been without a quality third baseman since Scott Rolen was traded in 2002.

On June 12, 2018, he signed with the team for a reported $5.85 million signing bonus.

According to Phillies director of scouting Johnny Almaraz, Bohm was intended to follow in the footsteps of outfield prospect Adam Haseley and finish the 2018 Minor League Baseball season with the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws.
