James Richard Garoppolo, also known as Jimmy G, is an American football quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. He was born on November 2, 1991. (NFL).

He attended Eastern Illinois University and won the Walter Payton Award as a senior after setting school records for career throwing yards and touchdowns. The New England Patriots picked Garoppolo in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft, and he spent four seasons as Tom Brady’s backup and was a member of two Super Bowl-winning teams.

Garoppolo grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois, where he was born and reared. Denise (née Malec) and Tony Garoppolo Sr., a retired electrician, have four sons together. Tony Garoppolo Jr., an architect, and Mike Garoppolo, a teacher, are his older brothers, while Billy Garoppolo is his younger brother.

In 2013, Garoppolo won the Walter Payton Award, which is presented to the best offensive player under the Division I Football Championship Subdivision, while playing his senior season in head coach Dino Babers’ uptempo no-huddle strategy.

He was also named the OVC Male Athlete of the Year for the 2013–14 season as well as the 2013 College Football Performance FCS National Quarterback of the Year.

He is also a Two Times Super Bowl Champion, OVC Offensive Player Of The Year, First-team All-OVC(2013), Second-team All-OVC.
